Kid Ink 30th birthday: Facts you didn't know about Chris Brown's favourite collaborator

Major celebrations are in order for Kid Ink who turns 30 today (1 April 2016). The rap star has become a regular on the airwaves over recent years, creating hits with the likes of Chris Brown, Usher and Fetty Wap.

The Los Angeles native had been on the hip hop scene for some time when he teamed up with Chris Brown on the club banger Show Me in 2013 drawing mainstream attention. The dynamic duo joined forces again in 2014 on Main Chick before storming the charts again with the infectious Hotel the following year.

Over the course of his successful career, Kid Ink, real name Brian Todd Collins, has released four studio albums and a series of mixtapes as well as taking on other ventures like his clothing line, all the while maintaining a busy personal life with a fiancée and young daughter.

1. Although he is known to the masses now as Kid Ink, the rapper has used several aliases including Rockstar, under which he released his first mixtape.

2. It shouldn't be surprising given his name but Kid Ink is quite the tattoo fiend and boasts more than 100 over his body. The rapper started covering his body with art from the very young age of 16.

3. Kid Ink has collaborated with a number of high-profile artists but he has also worked behind-the-scenes with some notable musicians in the past. In 2011 Kid Ink produced the song Sade for P Diddy's collective Diddy Dirty Money while he has also created beats for Nipsey Hussle

4. Music isn't the only thing Kid Ink knows how to do. The rapper is the proud owner of the clothing line Alumni, which sells hoodies, duffle bags, beanies, chains and phone cases.

5. Although he is yet to achieve a number one, Kid Ink's second album, My Own Lane, was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association Of America.

6. Kid Ink is very much the family man after getting engaged to his childhood sweetheart Asiah Azante, a fitness model. The couple have been together for more than 10 years and welcomed their first child, daughter Aislin Parvaneh Collins, in February 2016. Speaking about his family life, the rapper told Hot 97: "I feel like it's not just getting married and getting a ring. I feel like it's a lifestyle you have to live when you become engaged and become married."
