Kim Kardashian has featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine for the first time.

The reality star who has previously appeared on the cover of magazines such as Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and Playboy and most controversially pledged to "break the internet" with her bottom-baring Paper magazine cover, was revealed as the cover girl for the July 16 issue of the magazine.

Dressed in a nautical ensemble that made the most of her ample cleavage The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star opened up about some of the most personal aspects of her life from her first interracial relationship, her sex tape, her close relationship with Caitlyn Jenner, and she even dishes the dirt on brother Rob as she reveals the reality of his life behind closed doors.

It's not that mysterious, what's happening with Rob...Do I think he smokes weed, drinks beer, hangs out and plays video games with his friends all day long? Yes.

The 34-year-old , who is married to rapper Kanye West, revealed that her father helped her to understand the dynamics of an inter-racial relationship when she was dating Michael Jackson's nephew TJ (Tito Joe) Jackson.

She said her late father "explained to me that he's had a lot of interracial friends, and it might not be the easiest relationship. He said I should prepare myself for people to say things to me... When I was in high school, I'd get magazines and see interracial couples and think, "They are so cute." I've always been attracted to a certain kind of look.'

She touched on her sex tape with Reggie Bush which first brought her to public attention. While her friend at the time Paris Hilton also faced the ignominy of having a sex tape leaked Kardashian-West said they didn't bond over the embarrassing experience.

"We didn't really talk about it. I probably would have thought, "Oh, my gosh, let me give her advice," but we had no communication. But our friendship had fizzled before that."

Kim also admitted to having some apprehensions about asking Caitlyn Jenner, who was known as Bruce Jenner before undergoing gender transition earlier this year, to walk her down at the aisle at her wedding to Kanye.

She told Rolling Stone magazine: "I wasn't sure if Bruce was going to be comfortable walking me down the aisle. He had just had his trachea shaved, so I knew something was going on. [Kanye] obviously moves to his own drum. He lives his life the way he wants, a really authentic life, and he was like, 'If you can't be authentic and you can't live your life, what do you have?"'

She also revealed her tough love approach to brother Rob Kardashian who she explained is "uncomfortable being on the show" as a result of his weight gain. The 28-year-old gained more than 100 pounds over the past two years, and has kept himself in seclusion, missing Kim and Kanye's wedding in Italy in May 2014 and their daughter North's recent birthday celebrations in Disneyland.

Speaking about her brother's ongoing battle with depression she said: "It's not that mysterious, what's happening with Rob. He has gained weight. He feels uncomfortable being on the show, and that's OK. Do I think he smokes weed, drinks beer, hangs out and plays video games with his friends all day long? Yes."

Her relationship with Rob has suffered after the TV star encouraged her mother Kris Jenner to cut him off financially.

Rob took to Instagram in retaliation describing his older sister as that "b***h from Gone Girl".

The Rolling Stone issue featuring Kim on the cover is set to hit newsstands this Friday, 3 July.
