American reality television star Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West have reportedly named their baby daughter North West.

Celebrity gossip Web site TMZ claims to have seen the birth certificate for the baby, who was born on 15 June at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, California.

"They will call her Nori for short," a source told US Weekly.

Previously, it was rumored that the two will name their newborn daughter Kaidence Donda West, as tribute to Kanye's late mother; her name was Donda West. Donda passed away in 2007 after she suffered complications following cosmetic surgery.

Meanwhile, Twitter went abuzz speculating that the name could be part of the occult secret society - the Illuminati - and put out these theories.

"@livinglikejulia Kanye named his baby North West...North and West on a compass makes a 90 degree triangle and you know what a triangle means?...ILLUMINATI"

"@JessicaChestler North has been confirmed, northwest is where the next antichrist is coming from...yeezus loves his illuminati wannabe ways "

"@Emilee379 Kim and Kanye's baby is named North West.. North has 5 letters, West has 4. Add then together that's 9. Then subtract 3,that's 6 #illuminati"

"@fatuglyjohn kim and kanye's baby is named North West.. NW on a compass points to 333° 333 is half of 666.. illuminati!?!?!!!!1!1"

Previously, there was also speculation about Kanye's close friend, Jay-Z and Beyonce's daughter name, Blue Ivy Carter, who was born last year on 7 January, and whether she was related to Illuminati and Satanism. The name Blue Ivy was suggested to have originated from Eulb Yvi, which means "Lucifer's daughter" in Latin.
