Kim Kardashian's recent nude selfie posted on Instagram has caused an uproar on social media and in the press. Kim posted a censored selfie on Monday (7 March) with the caption "when you're like I have nothing to wear LOL". It garnered 1.5 million likes and 270k comments and generated a social media frenzy.
Whilst a host of people are supporting her decision to celebrate her body with the photographs, there have been a number of celebrities and members of the public who have taken a dim view.
Despite the negative comments however, it seems that even when Kim Kardashian is nude, she still manages to sell something but it is not her body or beauty they are looking at, its her black modesty panel bikini.
The fashion e-commerce website Lystreported a surge of 406% in global searches for 'black bandeau' bikini tops in the 48 hours following Kim's Instagram posting and again after sister Kylie Jenner posted an image in solidarity of her in the mirror but actually wearing a black bikini, something that is no stranger to posing in.
According to Lyst, they were not expecting a spike in bikini sales for at least three months but are seeing the black bandeau bikinis as the top trending item for the UK with a style by Lisa Marie Fernandez getting 82,000 page views in the last three days.
If you're desperate to get the censored look you can still buy the bikini that everyone is desperate for on Lyst as well as some other great micro bandeau alternatives perfect for recreating your own naked selfie look.
