There's a new 'Baby Aloud' as Kimberley Walsh confirmed she has given birth to her first born son.

The former Girls Aloud singer took to Twitter on Friday (5 September) to share the news of the new arrival with fans.

She wrote: "Our beautiful baby boy Bobby arrived yesterday afternoon 04/09/14 he's perfect."

The singer was flooded with messages of congratulations from fans and celebrity friends alike.

TV star Denise Van Outen, who starred alongside the new mum on Strictly Come Dancing in 2012, wrote: "Beyond happy for you and Justin. Had a feeling you would have a boy! Enjoy every second."

"Congratulations to Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh, who has just welcomed a baby boy called Bobby. She's going to have to start a mini boyband!" wrote a fan.

In an interview in August, speaking about impending motherhood, Walsh said she was looking forward to easing up on her hectic schedule during maternity leave.

"It's the one time in my life where I can take time out and not plan. I'm looking forward to a chilled few months with the family in the run up to Christmas where I can just get cosy at home."

The singer confirmed that she was pregnant in February, tweeting: "Justin and I are so happy to let you all know we are having a baby!!! Couldn't wait to share our lovely news with you all."

Opening up about the moment they discovered she was expecting on New Year's Day, she admitted to crying with joy when she had her first scan. "I was overcome with emotion, I don't know where it came from.

"'I saw the baby wriggling away and burst into tears, crazily so. It suddenly felt real and it mustn't have done until that point."

She is the second member of the band to become a mum after Nadine Coyle welcomed a daughter, Anaiya, in February.
