Overview

Kings XI Punjab as most predicted are languishing at the bottom of the table after a woeful run thus far in the competition. They do have Royal Challengers Bangalore for company, who are above them only due to a superior run rate. They have tasted victory on two occasions and both have come against new entrants Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions.

Their foreign players have failed to perform, while their domestic contingent have also struggled to match up to their counterparts in the other franchises. Their performances have been so dour that David Miller has been dropped as the captain in favour of Murali Vijay, and moreover, they played just three foreign players in their previous game.

Delhi Daredevils, on the other hand, look like a team on the rise and are one of the favourites to make the playoff stages of the competition. They are coming into the game on the back of their third loss, but a lot of the blame has been laid on the lap of stand-in captain JP Duminy due to his bowling choices and run-a-ball innings. Zaheer Khan was sidelined due to illness against the Pune Supergiants, but is likely to return for the trip to Mohali.
