Overview

Kings XI Punjab welcome new entrants to the IPL, Gujarat Lions, to Mohali for the second game of the 2016 season. Preity Zinta's team will be hoping to improve on their fortunes from 2015, when they finished at the bottom of the table, managing just three wins in their 14 games. They have retained their core international players in David Miller, Glen Maxwell and Mitchell Johnson, and will be heavily dependent on the trio to win games.

The Gujarat Lions, who are one of the replacements for the suspended Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals, will be looking for a winning start to their debut campaign in the IPL. They are led by Suresh Raina and have a strong line-up of experienced and explosive players. They go into the game as favourites.
