Kobe Bryant made his final appearance for the LA Lakers on 13 April, putting in a showstopping performance as the his team ran out 101-96 victory over Utah Jazz. It was the 5-time NBA champion's 1,346th game for the Lakers in what was a glittering carer and he bowed out in style with a 60-point haul – the sixth of his career.

While Bryant was centre stage, the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles turned into a shrine to the NBA superstar with LA's glitterati playing cameos courtside. Celebrities including Jay Z, Kanye West and David Beckham were there to cheer Bryant and the Lakers on in the milestone match.

Two-time inductee into the Basketball Hall of Fame, and ex-Laker, Magic Johnson – who Bryant grew up idolising – called the retiring star the franchise's "greatest ever player" as he presented a video tribute to him.
