Happy Birthday Kristen Stewart! 'Twilight' Actress Turns 22 Today [PHOTOS]

Hollywood star Kristen Stewart has rather an eclectic collection of film roles to her credit - from a scared daughter in a ghost story to a vampire and then a "sexy lass".

The star of the "Twilight" series of films will next be seen in a sexy and provocative role for "On the Road" and, according to Gather Celebs, "In addition to appearing nude, she participates in a sexual threesome, engages in dirty dancing, and shows a side of herself that even boyfriend Robert Pattinson may not have realized existed".

More importantly, Stewart turns 22 on Monday!

Born in Los Angeles, Stewart comes from a family that is no stranger to the film camera. Her father is a television producer and her mother a script writer.

Her previous films include "Panic Room", "Cold Creek Manor", "Speak", "Catch That Kid", "Fierce People", "Into the Wild", "What Just Happened" and "The Yellow Handkerchief" but her big break was the role of Bella Swan, in the "Twilight" films.

The series chronicles her transition from a normal college girl who falls in love with a vampire to becoming a vampire herself.

According to Yahoo, her performance in a grade school Christmas play, when she was eight years old, caught the eye of a talent agent in the audience. That led to her auditioning for film and television roles and, subsequently, a role in the Disney Channel TV production, "The Thirteenth Year" (1999).

Her time with the "Twilight" has led to her getting many awards - MTV Movie Awards, The Teen Choice Awards, People's Choice Awards, BAFTA Awards and the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

Finally, even though the on-screen duo that was Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the film have been rumoured to be an off-screen couple as well, neither has officially confirmed it; Stewart has always made it very clear that her relationships were her personal business.

A report on Yahoo says: "Blogs and teeny bopper magazines dissected every photograph and interview the two participated in, all in order to get to the bottom of the question at hand: was the couple dating? Neither officially said, but the furore only added more luster to the highly anticipated "Twilight" sequel."
