Tulisa Contostavlos
Tulisa will reportedly axed from The X Factor as Simon Cowell shakes up the ailing show.

Tulisa Contostavlos is reportedly set to be axed from the X Factor as Simon Cowell attempts to revamp the ailing show.

The ITV talent show judge led her girl group Little Mix to victory in 2011, but show bosses were apparently left unimpressed with her subdued performance last year.

The N-Dubz singer will now pay the ultimate price for the show's rating slide, The Sun reports.

"Apart from her performance on last year's show, you can't have a singer whose album only reached No35 in the charts sitting in judgment on other singers," a source told The Sun.

"Tulisa has been on the panel for two years. She had a good run, but all good things come to an end."

Contostavlos's spokesperson denied the claims and insisted that "no decisions on this year's judging panel have been made yet and this is pure speculation."

The reports comes months after her father Plato claimed that the Sight of You hitmaker "only does it for the money" and is eager to leave the show.

He told Now magazine: "Tulisa doesn't want to be there. She's bored with it. She doesn't need The X Factor, she's got N-Dubz," he said.

"I want her to leave X Factor. N-Dubz can do one gig and earn up to £500,000. I want her to make some serious dosh, millions, by doing an independent album with N-Dubz."

Rita Ora, Sharon Osbourne and former Spice Girl Melanie Brown have reportedly been approached to replace Contostavlos on the next series of The X Factor.

Show insiders also revealed that veteran judge Louis Walsh had been in line for the boot in the dramatic shakeup, but Cowell fought tooth and nail to save his long-time friend.
