Queen Letizia of Spain is proving quite the sartorial inspiration for holiday-goers as she continues to wow with outfits while vacationing on the Balearic island of Mallorca.
The 43-year-old mother of two took summer style to new heights in a beautiful floral dress featuring oversized prints and a luxurious satin textures by Spanish fashion designer Juan Vidal. She paired the elegant and vibrantly coloured piece with platform silver strappy sandals by Magrit and a beige agate leather clutch by Malababa.
The silk cap-sleeve 'Ikebana' dress flattered the queen's svelte figure and added curves with its cinched in waist and A-line skirt. It is part of Vidal's spring/summer 2016 collection which he showcased at last year's fashion week in Madrid.
The occasion marks the first time that Letizia has worn a design from the Alicante-born threadmaker – who hails from a tailoring family that spans four generations and has created couture pieces for famous luxury fashion houses. Letizia is prone to wearing designs by her preferred brands, Felipe Varela, Hugo Boss and Carolina Herrera but appears to be experimenting with her style for the warmer months.
She finished off the look with a rosy-cheeked make up look and some drop gemstone earrings from one of her favourite jewellers, Coolook.
Letizia accompanied her husband of twelve years, King Felipe VI, to the Royal Palace of La Almudaina in Mallorca where they hosted the annual Balearic Islands reception. The royal couple welcomed hundreds of guests from the local community including politicians, academics, welfare groups and sports personalities.
Letizia and Felipe were joined by the latter's mother, 77-year-old Queen Sofia for the occasion. She managed to match her daughter-in-law's style in a resplendent floral tunic pant suit which she styled with a statement chunky necklace and grey heels.
The royals greeted guests in high spirits in the picturesque grounds of Almudaina Palace on their Mallorcan trip, and have been enjoying some family time amid sporadic royal engagements during their stay. Letizia and Felipe were pictured with their two daughters, Crown princess Leonor and Princess Sofia on a walk in the idyllic gardens of Marivent Palace on Thursday (4 August) where they all wore nautical themed outfits.
