The all new LG Prada Phone 3.0 smartphone will be launched in the UK on Saturday. It will be available at Phones 4U brick-and-mortar stores and on the official website.

The collaboration between LG and Prada resulted in the making of an affordable smartphone with all the latest features fitted into it.

The new smartphone sports a unique look compared to its predecessors. The smartphone has the feel of Samsung Galaxy S2 in terms of design as it has a plastic casing with Saffiano pattern and a very slim body outlook.

The rectangular shaped LG Prada 3.0 has a visually pleasing look to create an impression of a very large phone. The top side of the handset features 3.5mm jack, microUSB port and the power lock key. The touch sensitive navigation keys are found below the screen for that finer feel.

Here is a comparison between LG Prada 3.0 and other major smartphones in the market.

Display: LG Prada 3.0 comes with a 4.3-inch, 480 x 800 pixels and IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, mostly found in major android handsets like Galaxy S2 and Motorola DROID RAZR. Equipped with NOVA PLUS screen, the new handset's display is very clear even in bright sunlight and it is equivalent to iPhone 4S display.

Operating system: As it sports Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, LG Prada line of smartphones have entered the next level of uniqueness. The home screen appearance is built to suite users who are into travel, play and work. And all of the Google services are placed in a separate section giving space to different icons keeping in mind the very importance of a style conscious device which is very different compared to other Android handsets.

Connectivity: The Opera Mobile browser delivers superior browsing performance on LG Prada 3.0 which is in similar lines to iPhone's Safari or Galaxy Nexus's ICS browser. As the phone supports 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz bands for 2G, and 900, 1900 and 2100 MHz for 3G, it has HSPA+ speeds. Expect the handset to provide speeds ranging up to 21.1 Mbit/s (download) and 14.4 Mbit/s (upload). Moreover built-in GPS works excellently in LG Prada 3.0.

The phone offers excellent video support as the handset is equipped with 1080p video recording, which provides high quality video capture. Interestingly, the users have to register the handset on the DivX site in order to play DivX flies. As it features noise cancellation microphone, calling in busy places with lots of ambient sounds will not be an issue.

Other features: There is NFC, microSD card slot, DLNA and Wi-Fi Direct support which are not found in iPhone 4S.The Li-Ion 1540 mAh battery gives a decent talk time of up to 5 hours on 3G. And the phone is thinner at 8.5 mm and weighs less than iPhone 4S too. This is quite an achievement for a 4.3-inch smartphone.

The smartphone is priced at £31 per month on a two year contract. Phones4U is selling it on Orange, Vodafone and O2 while Three and T-Mobile is being left out for now. Clove plans to sell the unlocked version of the phone for £430 and it is likely to be released on February 14.
