The Royal Air Force launched attacks on pro-Gaddafi tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery over the weekend, the Ministry of Defence has said.

The MoD said that it had hit 22 tanks, armoured vehicles and artillery pieces with Tornado GR4s in and around Ajdabiya and Misurata.

Meanwhile this morning GR4s also attacked munitions bunkers in the southern desert of Libya. The MoD claims that the bunkers were being used to resupply government troops who were being used to attack Libyan civilians.

While there appears to be no confirmation of the bunkers destruction, the MoD said that "initial reports" suggested they had been.
