Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson was overwhelmed with emotion on stage just hours before the girl group cancelled their gig in Belfast. The Black Magic singer was speaking to the audience in Dublin, on 30 March about confidence issues when she became teary and had to be consoled by her bandmates.

The British group were due to perform their latest Get Weird tour show at the SSE Arena on 31 March when a statement was released via their Twitter page, informing fans that Nelson, 24, was too ill to perform. A video has now surfaced of the singer's speech at the Dublin show, during which she says: "If you're ever feeling really crap about yourself or you're not feeling confident this is exactly why we wrote this song..."

After getting choked-up, Nelson adds: "God, I don't know what's wrong with me. Ireland what have you done to me?" before her bandmates Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall rushed to hug her.

Promoting self-confidence and a healthy body image to their young fan base has become somewhat of a motto for Little Mix who are looked upon as role models. The group have discussed these issues multiple times in the past so in support of Nelson's latest speech, IBTimes UK looks back at her most inspirational quotes on body confidence.
