94mins United's miserable afternoon is brought to a close as Mark Clattenburg brings a quite sensational game to a close. Noisy neighbours? Not anymore, City move five points clear at the top of the Premier League.

93mins GOAL! MAN UTD 1-6 MAN CITY (DZEKO) Silva caps a wonderful afternoon for City with a quite brilliant ball that splits the Untied defence to send Dzeko racing clear. The substitute makes no mistake as he rifles the ball past De Gea.

90mins GOAL! MAN UTD 1-5 MAN CITY (SILVA) From the kick-off City win the ball with ease, Dzeko slips one through Ferdinand's legs and threads one through to Silva down the right-channel. He takes one touch and nutmegs De Gea.

89mins GOAL! MAN UTD 1-4 MAN CITY (DZEKO) This is getting ridiculous. City win a corner and from it Barry's header is palmed wide by De Gea. The ball falls to Lescott and his cut-back from the by-line is met by Dzeko's knee.

88mins A bizarre exchange between Ferdinand and De Gea gifts City a corner and...

87mins Yaya Toure bombs towards the United goal but his to-poke drifts harmlessly wide.

85mins Richards picks up a yellow card for a clumsy tackle on Welbeck. Young's whips in the freekick but he fails to pick out a red shirt. The ball's put back into the City area and Smalling rises highest but sends a powerful header over the bar.

83mins Welbeck picks up a yellow card for a late challenge on Richards down the right. The England defender has been very very impressive this afternoon.

80mins GOAL! MAN UTD 1-3 MAN CITY (FLETCHER) Darren Fletcher hasn't scored in over a year but he scorWeles with a spectacular goal to end that particular drought. Rooney threads the ball across to Fletcher from the inside-left, the Scot plays a neat one-two with Hernandez before unleashing a wonderful, curling shot into the top-right corner that leaves Hart with no chance. The comback starts here.

77mins Dzeko's had an eventful five minutes. Silva's allowed to maraud towards the United area. It's three on three with Dzeko and Milner breaking either side, Silva plays in Dzeko but his pass is a tad overhit and Dzeko's shot is well saved by De Gea low to his right.

75mins Dzeko's second contribution is to pick up a yellow card for a clumsy challenge on Phil Jones. Man City substitution: Samir Nasri on, Sergio Aguero off.

74mins Wonderful chance for Silva who should have made it four but contrived to sky a dropping ball miles over the bar from four yards out.

72mins There'll be no hat-trick for Mario Balotelli who's been replaced by Edin Dzeko. His first contribution is to drag a shot just wide right of De Gea's goal when clean through.

68mins GOAL! MAN UTD 0-3 MAN CITY (AGUERO) Remember the day, for this is the afternoon City demonstrated their title credentials in emphatic fashion. It's too easy for the visitors, Toure feeds Balotelli who flicks the ball out wide-right to Milner. Milner rolls the ball to Richards who sprints to the by-line before delivering an inch-perfect cross across the six-yard box where Aguero slides the ball through De Gea's legs.

67mins Evra picks up a yellow card for a studs-up challenge on Balotelli. Worth noting that Anderson picked up a booking five minutes ago for a foul on Aguero. This match's rattling along at such a pace that that one passed me by.

65mins Nani off Hernandez on, Anderson off Jones on. Hernandez wins a corner down the right with his first touch.

63mins This could get embarrassing for United. Silva is in inspirational form in the centre, dictating everything that's coming through the middle. The Spaniard gets a yard on Smalling an whips a low cross across the area, Ferdinand clears with Balotelli lurking.

59mins GOAL! MAN UTD 0-2 MAN CITY (BALOTELLI) Old Trafford's rocking but it's the City fans making all the noise. Sheer passing brilliance from City. Milner drifts down the right before playing a neat one-two with Silva and suddenly he's in acres of space on the inside-right, his cross from the by-line is straight across the corridor of uncertainty and it's the easiest of tap-ins for, who else, Mario Balotelli at the far-post.

54mins Milner drifts a lovely cross deep towards the far-post but it's mere inches too long for Aguero to connect. United race down the other end where Young skedaddles into the City area down the left-hand side but he runs out of space and it's a United corner. The less said about the set-piece the better. City clear.

52mins Chances for both sides. First Aguero's shot is deflected high into the United box where Richards brings the ball under control before skying his shot high to the left when under pressure. Up the other end Young's hot from the edge of the area is deflected off Milner's leg, the ball richochets straight back to the winger but it arrives too quickly and his snap shot rolls wide left.

50mins City prod and poke the ball around on the edge of the United area, probing for a way through a rather thin back-line but Ferdinand and Smalling close ranks and there's no way through. Richards picks up the loose ball and slips through the United defence before tangling with Anderson. The referee indicates contact was accidental: no penalty. A lovely ball over the top from Evra then sends Welbeck clear but there's no support for the striker and Kompany and Lescott deal with the danger.

47mins Balotelli clatters the freekick into the United wall and Evra scurries the ball clear. City won't be too concerned, this could be a long-old afternoon for United.

46mins RED CARD! JOHNNY EVANS (MAN UTD) My-oh-my, do we have a game on our hands. Balotelli is sent clear through on the United goal by a lovely Aguero ball, he shrugs off Evans but the United defender is all over the Italian striker and he hauls him down inches outside the penalty area. The regeree has no hesitation in reaching straight for his cards and the colour is red. Evans was the last man, it was a clear goal-scoring opportunity and Sir Alex Ferguson can have no complaints about that. A horror start for the home side.

46mins City get us back underway at Old Trafford with United attackign the Stretford End in the second-half. No changes from either manager but expect Ferguson to make changes if it stays like this for 15-20 minutes.

45mins United knock the ball around without really going anywhere and Mark Clattenburg calls time on a frenetic 45 minutes at Old Trafford. HALF-TIME: MAN UTD 0-1 MAN CITY.

42mins Kompany is booked for a cynical foul on Welbeck as the United forward skittered free. The freekick finds Anderson down the inside left but his shot is wide of Hart's goal.

40mins Unite'd brittle defence rears its ugly head again. Evans and Ferdinand retreat as Aguero bounds towards the United goal, a neat stepover leaves Evans stranded but he takes the ball too wide for a shot and Ferdinand recovers to clear.

38mins City win a freekick in a dangerous position, 30-yards from goal in a central position. Balotelli spots the ball and lines up a shot but his snorting effort rebounds off the United wall. United break down the other end and Welbeck's pass is just too heavy for Rooney. United win a corner and Rooney, wide right of goal, slips the ball to Eans, six-yards out, but the United defender spills the shot horribly wide. Of all the players Sir Alex could have asked for, Evans would surely have been bottom of his list.

36mins Nani pops up on the right and slides a ball through to Rooney five yards outside the City area, the United striker turns Kmpany before striking a rising shot goalwards but Hart's right behind it.

34mins City thread the ball downfield and find Balotelli wide left. The Italian's jinking rund completely wrong-foots Evra whose clumpsy challenge brings the City forward down. Silva's freekick is overhit and drifts harmlessly behind De Gea's goal.

31mins United work the ball well across the City back four before Fletcher feeds Young down the left. The winger's cross is deflected behind for a corner. Hart punches Young's cross clear but it falls to Anderson on the edgoe the City area, the Brazilian's curling shot is straight at Hart.

29mins United still dominating possession but they look a little shellacked by City's goal. Young floats down the left and unleashes a rasping, dipping shot that arches across Hart's goal but the goalkeeper gets down well to claim. Rooney tried to unleash Welbeck down the inside-right but his pass is overhit and it flies through to Hart. United looking a little short of ideas at present, as if they're finding the sheer impudence of City's opening goal a little hard to stomach.

25mins Richards attempts an outrageous chip from just inside the United half, with predictable consequences.

23mins It's all City now. The United defence back off and back off as Clichy romps towards the United area before he feeds a ball to Silva down the right but his cross is inches to high for Balotelli.

21mins GOAL! Man Utd 0-1 Man City (Balotelli) It had to be the Italian didn't it? City find some joy down the left as Clichy skips down the wing before dragging a cross across goal. It's an awful ball and it's easily cleared but only as far as Milner who advances down the left before squirting a cross to the edge of the box where Balotelli places a delightful side-foot finish into the bottom right-hand corner with De Gea flat-footed. He's then booked, as only he could be, for producing a t-shirt that reads 'WHY ALWAYS ME?' like some sortof meta-joke.

17mins Young has begun this game at full throttle and he's again involved as United break down the left. He's given RIchards a thorough work-out in the opening 20 minutes. Young finds Rooney on the edge of the City area but an excellent Kompany challenge takes care of the danger. Rooney throws himself to the ground in a half-hearted appeal for a penalty but even he doesn't really believe it. He's been a little anonymous so far, the England international. Then again, he didn't really flower in the last derby and then he produced that overhead kick.

14mins Much better from City. Richards finds space down the right before popping the ball into Silva on the edge of the United area. The Spaniard is surrounded by three United defenders but he turns left, then right, then left again, drifting into a dangerous position in a crowded penalty area, none of the United players willing to make a challenge lest the City winger go to ground. Eventually the Spain international runs out of room and the move breaks down.

12mins City are struggling to bring the ball out of their own half, Silva the latest culprit to gift United possession when well positioned.

9mins Couple of chances for both sides as the game pings from one end to the other. First, Rooney's lofted cross hangs in the air towards Anderson at the back-post but the Brazilian's header is woefully off-target. City get the ball down the other end at pace before James Milner finds space on the edge of the box, his snap-shot cannons off a United defender and safely into De Gea's hands. United break at pace and Young is scythed down by Milner. City have conceded a number of freekicks early on and the referee has a long chat with Milner, fingers gesticulating something or other but he escapes without a booking. United looking threatening now.

5mins Both sides struggling to control the tempo in these early stages. Anderson concedes a freekick in the centre of the park, City knock the ball about a bit before winning a throw-in. Looks like the visitors have set themselves up for the win here, as well they should. Expect Balotelli, Silva and Milner to switch positions in behind Sergio Aguero, with the Argentine dropping deep to get involved in midfield.

3mins Nani's cross finds Danny Welbeck but the United forward can't get the ball under control and City clear. Seconds later, Ashley Young wins a freekick down the left after Micah Richards brings the winger down in a dangerous area. Young's freekick fails to beat the first defender and David Silva brings the ball away.

1min United, in red shirts and white shorts, get us underway kicking left to right. City clad in all sky blue start at a ferocious tempo. De Gea's poor clearance gives David Silva an early run at Chris Smalling but the England international comfortably snuffles the danger.

1325 19 straight league wins at Old Trafford for Manchester United. A tough ask for any visiting team but if any side could do it you suspect it might just be City. Unbeaten this season and two points clear at the top of the table, this is the first real test Mancini's side have faced.

1315 So, Mario Balotelli. What a weekend he's having, eh? The explosive forward's remarkable capacity for self-inflicted drama reached new heights last night after the Italian set his own house on fire on the eve of City's biggest game of the season. We'll have to wait and see what Roberto Mancini makes of the latest footnote in Balotelli's short career but will he start this afternoon. Team news is forthcoming...
