7:20pm: And that's a wrap! A convincing win for Arsene Wenger which will somewhat ease the pressure over his job. Newcastle had good spells at times but never looked like they might take any points from the Gunners.

7:18pm: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain comes off for 17 year old Ainsley Mailand-Niles. Arsenal are seeing this one out now.

7:14pm: GOAL! Arsenal shut down the game as Santi Cazorla scores from the spot.

7:13pm: PENALTY - Arsenal have a penalty after Paul Dummett collides with Danny Welbeck.

7:12pm: Francis Coquelin replaces Alexis Sanchez for Arsenal.

7:12pm: Heading into the final minutes now and you would think Arsenal will take maximum points from this, putting them in fifth place in the table. Newcastle are putting up a fight but they're running out of time...

7:08pm: Daryl Janmaat receives a yellow card for kicking the ball away as Newcastle start building some more good play.

7:05pm: Olivier Giroud might be off but he's certainly a lethal weapon for Wenger to use whenever Arsenal face Newcastle. According to OptaJoe:

8 - Olivier Giroud has scored six goals from just eight shots on target in the Premier League against Newcastle United. Nemesis.

7:00pm: Olivier Giroud comes off for Lukas Podolski.

6:56pm: Arsenal have had by far the most shots in this game but they've only got a small advantage in possession. They're attacking hard though to make it four goals as Kieran Gibbs misses to the left.

6:48pm: GOAL! Newcastle peel one back through Ayoze Perez and it's game on again. It's as much Arsenal's doing as the Toon in that goal, with Perez totally free as Colback found him with a free kick and he headed it into the net.

6:45pm: Cheick Tiote is shown a yellow card as Newcastle get frustrated.

6:43pm: GOAL! It's turning into a goal-fest for Arsenal now as Olivier Giroud takes them up 3-0. It may - may - have been offside but needed just one touch to get the ball into the net. Hard to come back now for Newcastle, but stranger things have happened before...

6:41pm: GOAL! Arsenal are up 2-0 thanks to a goal from Santi Cazorla, who has been brilliant in this game so far. It was from a difficult angle too, with the Spaniard showing just how good he can be with a little help from Alexis Sanchez.

6:35pm: Jack Colback goes in the book for fouling Alexis Sanchez, as Arsenal hold a slight majority of possession.

6:32: And we're back! Arsenal were on top in the first half but Newcastle were creeping up on them - will the Toon find an equaliser?

6:16pm: And that's a wrap on the first half.

6:10pm: Newcastle are looking more lively in front of goal but that hasn't dulled Arsenal's threat - Cazorla has a shot blocked, could it be another frustrating half in front of the net for the Gunners?

6:07pm: Hector Bellerin is handed a yellow card after a rough tackle - Arsenal looking slightly rattled here.

6:04pm: Newcastle get a shot in, and it's damn close! Gouffran goes for goal with a header but Wojciech Szczesny blocks it and the rebound as well.

6:01pm: Surely this is going to be Danny Welbeck's day - he has a shot from the centre of the box but misses to the left.

5:55pm: Hey Newcastle, wanna have a chance on goal? They've technically got two according to stats but they have not looked threatening at all so far. Arsenal could be doubling their lead very soon if this continues...

5:46pm: Arsenal come close to doubling their lead but the ref says no goal as Daryl Janmaat is fouled by Danny Welbeck in the lead-up to his shot.

5:45pm: GOAL! Olivier Giroud puts Arsenal ahead with a brilliant header, converting Alexis Sanchez's right wing cross into a much-deserved goal.

5:43pm: Newcastle's first serious chance to attack for the day as they win a corner but it comes to nothing as Arsenal take control quickly.

5:38pm: Close for Arsenal!! Per Mertesacker hits the bar with a header as they push through Newcastle's defence. Danny Welbeck is getting in on the action but he's not had a real dangerous shot so far.

5:37pm: Still no shots on goal as yet as both teams settle, Arsenal looking very much on top at the moment.

5:32pm: Arsenal have made a bright start with Welbeck being cleared by Colback - the side have all the ball right now - can they get an early goal?

5:30pm: And we're off!

5:25pm: Minutes until kick off - Arsenal and Newcastle are currently tied on points in the table and a win for either could propel them into fifth place.

4:57pm: The line-ups for Arsenal v Newcastle are as follows:

Arsenal: Szczesny, Bellerin, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Flamini, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Alexis, Welbeck, Giroud.

Newcastle: Alnwick, Janmaat, Williamson, Coloccini, Dummett; Tiote, Colback, Gouffran, Perez, Ameobi, Cisse.

4:51pm: And full time is ringing around England, with Chelsea, Burnley, West Brom and Manchester City coming out winners. Sunderland, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Stoke will have to settle for a point each but there could still be movement in the table today as Newcastle and Arsenal face off later on.

4:47pm: Into the last minutes now and it looks like Chelsea will stay top of the table for now, with Leicester, Hull and QPR taking the bottom three spots as Burnley move up to 17th.

4:40pm: Chelsea are still very much in control at home as Didier Drogba takes a chance at building his goal tally. Meanwhile City are not looking so dominant against Leicester as Anthony Knockaert has a shot blocked.

4:30pm: GOAL! Burnley go up 1-0 after Ashley Barnes scores - they didn't have the majority of possession or chances on goal but they've gotten the better of Southampton's defence as Nathaniel Clyne couldn't keep the ball and Barnes got it off him.

4:29pm: GOAL! West Brom are in the advantage against Aston Villa thanks to Craig Gardner.

4:24pm: GOAL! Chelsea double their lead, and look very much in control as Diego Costa takes the score to 2-0 over Hull.

4:19pm: Southampton's penalty is saved! Dusan Tadic shoots straight into Tom Heaton who guesses correctly.

4:18pm: RED CARD - Tom Huddlestone is sent off for Hull and the side are now down to 10 men against Chelsea. There might be controversy over why Chelsea still have 11 men on the pitch but this was a clear red as Huddlestone stood on Filipe Luis' knee. Not cool.

4:17pm: PENALTY - Southampton have a penalty against Burnley.

4:12pm: Stamford Bridge is the scene of some controversial refereeing decisions today as Gary Cahill gets away with diving. It should have been a yellow but that would have meant he was sent off as he's currently on a yellow already...

4:07pm: Over to St Mary's and Southampton have had the only decent chances on goal so far this game with two shots on target compared to none for Burnley.

4:02pm: And we're back!

3:47pm: Half-time is starting to ring around the UK as Chelsea and Manchester City both keep their leads.

3:41pm: GOAL! Frank Lampard scores to take City ahead 1-0 against Leicester.

3:35pm: Things may have calmed down at Stamford Bridge goal-wise but Chelsea currently hold 60% of possession and are in complete control. As things stand they'll be five points ahead od City but a lot can happen in the next hour.

3:29pm: GOAL! West Ham equalise through Stuart Downing.

3:23pm: RED CARD - Villa's Kieran Richardson is sent off for a high and late challenge on West Brom man Stephane Sessegnon. A deserved red at that and it'll be an uphill battle for Villa now.

3:21pm: GOAL! Sunderland are up 1-0 as Jordi Gomez converts the penalty.

3:20pm: PENALTY - Sunderland have a penalty against West Ham after Johnson goes down in the box...

3:13pm: GOAL! It turning into quite the game at Selhurst Park as Stoke quickly equalise thanks to Peter Crouch.

3:10pm: GOAL! Crystal Palace take the advantage against Stoke through James McArthur.

3:07pm: GOAL! Eden Hazard puts Chelsea ahead of Hull early on - could this turn into a thrashing? The Blues absolutely dominated the opening minutes and Oscar had no trouble at all finding Hazard unmarked with a cross.

3:00pm: And we have kick-off!

2:53pm: There's a battle at the top of the table but also at the bottom with just five points separating last from 15th place. All bar one of those teams are in action today and victory could completely change how the relegation zone looks going into Christmas.

2:50pm: With 10 minutes until kick-off, Chelsea will be keen to take maximum points after a shock loss to Newcastle in their last fixture. Manchester City are only three points behind in the title race and will be keen to possibly close that gap if the Blues slip up today and Manuel Pellegrini's men defeat Leicester.
