Daniel Agger insists that Pepe Reina's return to form has come at just the right time as Liverpool look to continue their good run of results and push for a top four finish.

The Reds are coming off the back of two huge league wins, defeating Swansea 4-0 and then Wigan 5-0 in some of their best performances yet, showing the new system Brendan Rodgers has instilled in the squad is starting to click amongst the players.

And with two clean sheets in a row under his belt, Agger believes that Liverpool fans have a lot to look forward to from Reina for the remainder of the season.

"Pepe was world class against Wigan," he said, as reported in ESPN. "He had a few great saves and he deserves a lot of credit for his performance.

Pepe Reina
Pepe Reina has had a mixed season, but Daniel Agger says he's coming good for Liverpool.

"It says it all if you can have a goalkeeper you can rely on at the back, both with the feet and on the line. Against Wigan, he showed the best of himself.

"I hope we are beginning to find some consistency because that's what we need. It's vital to get as high up the table as possible. That's the target."

Between Reina's recent performances, Luis Suarez's continued success, and the promise of January signings Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool have been able to show that they are serious about becoming a force in England once again.

The side are currently seventh in the table, and just 10 points off fourth placed Chelsea. Despite still being far off challenging for Champions League football, fans are hopeful that in the final months of the season the Reds will at least give a serious challenge to the big sides.
