Alexander Doni

Liverpool goalkeeper Alexander Doni has revealed his dissatisfaction at being Pepe Reina's understudy and says he is unsure if he will remain at Anfield next season.

Doni is in line to feature in the Reds' next three games after Reina was sent off for violent conduct against Newcastle on Sunday.

The Liverpool goalkeeper appeared to head-butt James Perch after the Newcastle defender tripped him but replays showed there was no contact between the pair, despite Perch's dramatic reaction.

And Doni, who joined Liverpool from Roma last summer, is expected to deputise for Reina in the upcoming league matches against Aston Villa and Blackburn, as well as the FA Cup semi-final against Everton.

"Next year, I do not know where I will play," Doni is quoted on Sky Sports. "Being on the bench is not great.

"Liverpool have changed so much. There have been lots of ups and downs, but I'm learning the language and the experience is beautiful.

"I miss [former club] Roma a lot because it always rains here in Liverpool."

Meanwhile, Glen Johnson has criticised Perch for his role in the dismissal of Reina on Sunday. The Liverpool defender tweeted: "What have I just seen? Is Perch for real? Joke."
