Liverpool are planning to part ways with their midfielder Suso and use him to sign Sevilla star Alberto Moreno, reports the Daily Mail.

The left-back was part of the side which won the Europa League after defeating Benfica in the final in May. Unai Emery's side will now face the Champions League winners Real Madrid in Cardiff on Tuesday.

After featuring in the UEFA Super Cup in Wales, Moreno will complete his move to the Merseyside club. Brendan Rodgers is keen on strengthening his left-back position and the Reds have long been linked with a move to sign him.

The Anfield club will pay £16m to Sevilla to acquire Moreno's services. As part of the deal, Rodgers will allow Liverpool midfielder Suso to move in the opposite direction. The 20-year-old was on loan at Almeria last season and impressed during his time in Spain.

Liverpool were interested in signing Ben Davies in this summer transfer window. However, the former Swansea City left-back completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur last month.

Besides, Rodgers was keen on landing Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand. However, the English defender completed his loan move to Southampton.

With the Northern Irishman missing out on Davies and Bertrand, the situation has forced Liverpool to shift their focus to Moreno to strengthen their left-back position for the new season.

Meanwhile, the Reds's summer signing Divock Origi has revealed Liverpool were monitoring him for long before agreeing terms with the Belgium international. The striker was signed from Lille and will return to his former club on a season-long loan.

"He [Rodgers] wants me to become one of the best in the world," Origi told L'Equipe.

"Liverpool followed me for a long time. When I arrived in the offices there, they showed me cassettes of me in the U15s. Everyone knew me. I couldn't believe it."
