Dani Pacheco is expected to leave Liverpool before the end of the current transfer window after confirming that he would not be taking part in the club's tour of Indonesia and would instead be discussing his future.

The 22 year old has been with the club for six years but has struggled to make an impact in the first team, despite current boss Brendan Rodgers giving a number of youth players a chance to excel last season.

Pacheco has made just five Premier League appearances and has twice been loaned back to Spain, first with Rayo Vallecano and then for the second half of last season to Huesca.

He scored five goals in his 19 league appearances for the second division side and there may well be some interest from Spanish sides for a player who was thought off highly when coming through the Barcelona academy.

Pacheco was expected to travel with the rest of the Liverpool squad to Indonesia but took to Twitter to reveal that he was staying behind in order to enter discussions about his future.

The Spain Under-21 international was not the only senior player to stay in Merseyside, with Daniel Sturridge remaining in Liverpool as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

With star striker Luis Suarez the subject of a £35m bid from Arsenal and with plenty of teams showing an interest in the striker, Liverpool will be desperate for Sturridge to be fully fit for the start of the season in case they lose the Uruguayan hitman.

Sturridge made a huge impact after arriving in January and will looking to further impress in his first full season with the club.
