Liverpool are set to trigger Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan's £32m release-clause and bring him to Anfield.

According to the Express, the Reds are willing to match the fee, as they look to strengthen their offensive line post Luis Suarez's departure to Barcelona. Brendan Rodgers has been given most of the cash the club made on the Uruguayan's sale, and the manager is looking at multiple signings to fill the void.

The Turkish international has been linked with a move away from Atletico in the past with Arsenal and Manchester United touted as possible destinations. But it now looks like Liverpool is leading the race to land the winger.

Moreover, the Atletico winger's agent Ahmet Bulut has confirmed that there are other teams as well apart from the Premier League clubs, who are interested in acquiring his client's services.

"Arsenal and Liverpool? A destination in the Premier League would be to the liking of the player and I can confirm there are clubs interested, like the two mentioned," Bulut said, as quoted in the Metro.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for the Spanish capital club, and played an important role in their run to the La Liga crown last season. Diego Simeone will be reluctant to lose another of his top players after seeing Diego Costa leave to join Chelsea and now Felipe Luis also looks to be heading in the same direction.

However, with the sale of Turan, the Spanish champions can raise enough funds to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. Atletico have been linked with a move for Arsenal's Santi Cazorla and the Turkish winger's sale could fund that move and save a sizeable amount to spend on other players.
