Liverpool have confirmed the departure of Sheyi Ojo on a season-long loan to Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 18-year-old winger has also signed a new long-term contract with the Reds ahead of his move.

"Sheyi Ojo has today signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool – and also joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a youth loan until the end of the season," a statement of the Reds' official site read.

The England U18 international joined the Merseyside club from MK Dons in 2011 and has impressed with some eye-catching performances for Liverpool's youth side. This saw him being called up to the first-team last season and was named on the bench for games against Burnley and Leicester City.

Ojo will spend the entire 2015/16 campaign with the Championship club to gain some first-team experience. This is the winger's second taste of Championship football following a loan spell with Wigan Athletic last season.

The former MK Dons trainee has expressed his delight after moving to the Molineux and explained that he was eager to get going with his new club and help them gain promotion to the Premier League.

"It's a great feeling. I'm looking forward to the upcoming season. Hopefully we can have a good year and push for promotion," Ojo told the Wolves's official site.

"It's a really good club. It's got great facilities. All of the players are nice, they have welcomed me to the club and the staff are brilliant as well."

"Everything's going well, I'm just looking forward to starting the season at the weekend," the Liverpool youngster added.

Ojo was part of Liverpool's pre-season tour of Malaysia, Thailand and Australia earlier in the summer. He also played for the Reds in a friendly against Swindon, coming on in the second half to grab the winner following Christian Benteke's opener.
