The Merseyside club started their transfer business early this summer, capturing Kolo Toure, the Spanish duo of Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto, and Simon Mignolet.

Brendan Rodgers then added Aly Cissokho to the squad, who was then followed by the deadline day signings of Mamadou Sakho, Tiago Ilori and Victor Moses. The Danish international believes Liverpool have added "quality" to their squad and is eager to see all the new signings in action.

"It has been a successful transfer window for us. We have been provided players with quality and that is what you want. I have not seen everyone in action, but what I have seen so far is very positive," Agger explained.

Meanwhile, Agger has been the subject of speculation linking him with a move to the Spanish champions Barcelona. However, the 28-year-old decided to continue at Anfield and also praised the club for keeping Luis Suarez at the club.

The Uruguayan international was a transfer target for Arsenal, but Liverpool chiefs were adamant that the striker was going nowhere.

"Of course it is positive that we kept Suarez. Anyone who knows his qualities on the field, can see that he is a player we need. Without doubt he is a great player," the defender stressed.

Liverpool have got off to a flying start in the Premier League, winning all three games this season, including a 1-0 home win over Manchester United. Agger has urged his team-mates not to get carried away as the Reds eye a challenge for the title.

"We'll need to play a few more matches before we see if we can be at the forefront and compete for trophies. We've made a good start, but we need to keep it up. We have got things in order. We haven't conceded goals and that's always helpful, because then you don't need to score many goals yourself," he said.
