The report claims the Championship club's manager Paul Ince, who is a former Liverpool player could help the Reds in bringing the England U21 international to the Merseyside club in the summer. In addition to this, Blackpool starlet was named as Football League Young Player of the Year last weekend and has now set his eyes on playing for a top club.

The ex-Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers was keen on bringing the former Reds player to Anfield in January. However, the deal did not take any shape as Liverpool failed to land the winger.

The winger revealed the Reds were interested in signing him during the winter transfer window. Meanwhile, Tom has now hinted a move to Anfield could still be on the cards by claiming a transfer to the Merseyside club could be "fantastic."

"There was something about Liverpool coming in for me in January and to go to a top club like that would have been fantastic but I have to realise it's about playing football and I don't think any of the moves were close," Goal.com quoted Tom as saying. .

Tom's performance for Blackpool been praised by many in recent times. His impressive form has alerted top clubs in the Premier League as Manchester United, along with Liverpool are also interested in signing the Championship star. The winger is now flattered with the recent rumours of him being linked with a move away from Bloomfield Road.

Meanwhile, the winger earlier commited his future to the Championship club and also went to praise his teammates and Blackpool fans for his recent rise. In addition to this, Liverpool are also interested in signing their former player Xabi Alonso in the summer. The 31-year-old will have a year left on his current deal with Real Madrid at the end of the season and Rodgers is reportedly keen on bringing the Spanish international to Anfield.
