Nuri Sahin may have only been with Liverpool for just over a month but it seems he has made a big impression and could remain at the club beyond his one-year loan.

Liverpool managed to sign the midfielder on a season-long loan from Real Madrid in the summer and he has gone on to score three goals in his four appearances for the club.

Sahin grabbed both goals in the 2-1 win over West Brom in the League Cup, before once again finding the net in the 5-2 win over Norwich at the weekend.

Spanish publication Marca believes that Liverpool have been so impressed with the performances of the Turkey international that they are already considering making a firm offer when his loan expires in the summer.

The report suggests that there is no agreement in place for Liverpool to have first refusal on the midfielder who does have five years remaining on his contract at the Bernebeu.

That means that Liverpool will have to negotiate with Real Madrid who do have a wealth of talent in midfield and were keen for Sahin to leave the club in order to gain regular first team football.

Sahin has earned rave reviews for his performances in the last two Liverpool games and was particularly impressive playing alongside Joe Allen and Steven Gerrard.

The 24-year-old played an instrumental role when Borussia Dortmund won the league title two seasons ago but struggled to make an impact in the Real Madrid side.

In his debut season with the Spanish giants he was only able to make four appearances as he struggled to dislodge the likes of Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil.

Much will depend on how Liverpool play this season as Sahin has been challenging for league titles in Germany and Spain.
