Manchester United's unbeaten record will be severely tested when they travel to Anfield in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side have lost in their last three Premier League visits to Anfield and they face a Liverpool side buoyed by the return of Steven Gerrard for his first start since March.

Gerrard's return means Kenny Dalglish has no new injury concerns, with Glen Johnson, Martin Kelly, Daniel Agger and Fabio Aurelio all available.

Saturday's clash between the two most successful teams in the country also sees Dalglish and Ferguson renew a rivalry that dates back over twenty years.

However, the Liverpool manager insists he is not motivated by any personal battle with Ferguson.

"I don't have any individual contest with Fergie," Dalglish told Sky Sports.

"These are football clubs that are playing - we don't play anymore. We can't influence anything other than what we do in the build-up and preparation for the games.

"The most important thing for us is how we compete on the pitch as a team. Head to head (against Ferguson)? I wouldn't have a clue what the score is in that and it doesn't really matter to me."

Defending champions United are unbeaten in 11 league and cup games this season and Ferguson will be hoping Wayne Rooney can finally break his barren streak at Anfield.

The former Everton striker is the current Premier League top scorer with nine goals but has failed to score in his last six league visits to Liverpool's ground.

United captain Nemanja Vidic faces a late fitness test on the calf strain he suffered on the opening day of the season, while Chris Smalling (groin) and Tom Cleverly (foot) could be fit to return.
