Bradley Smith's 73<sup>rd minute goal on 9 January helped Liverpool avoid a defeat as they settled for a 2-2 draw, forcing a replay. The Reds need to step up in order to qualify for the next round of the FA Cup.

In the last fixture, the Merseyside club hosted their arch-rivals Manchester United in the league fixture. Jurgen Klopp's men dominated the game, but it was Wayne Rooney's strike in the second half that was the difference between the two sides as the Old Trafford club left Anfield with three points.

Liverpool are without a win in the last three matches played in all competitions and have managed only one win in the last five fixtures. They will be looking to bounce back when they face the League Two side on Wednesday.

Exeter, on the other hand, enter this fixture after ending their six-match winless run. They defeated Leyton Orient 3-1 away from home and will be hoping for another victory when they face Liverpool at Anfield.
