The Champions League night returns to Anfield after a five-year absence as Liverpool host Ludogorets for the Group B clash on Tuesday evening.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 7:45pm BST. Live coverage of the match will be available on ITV 1 and UTV.

Overview

Liverpool failed to win the Premier League title last season as they finished second with two points behind league champions Manchester City. Their finish in the previous campaign has seen them make it directly to the group stages of Europe's elite club competition.

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers' side have not had a great start to the 2014/15 season as they have already lost two matches so far. The first defeat came away from home against City and the second was during their last fixture against Aston Villa at Anfield.

Gabriel Agbonlahor's ninth minute goal was the difference between the two sides as the Merseyside club suffered their second defeat in three matches. The Northern Irishman would be hoping to bounce back during the midweek Champions League fixture on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Ludogorets made it to the group stages after defeating Steaua Bucureşti on penalties. The two legged tie ended in a 1-1 draw, which forced the final outcome to be decided on penalties.

Georgi Dermendzhiev's side knocked the Romanian club out of the competition after defeating them 6-5 on penalties. It will be Ludogorets' first trip to England and their manager Dermendzhiev would be hoping for a win against Liverpool at Anfield.

What Managers Say

Brendan Rodgers: "This game [versus Villa] has gone and we now have to focus on that. There is nothing better than to get going again on Tuesday night in a competition we love. Hopefully we can start that competition with three points."

Georgi Dermendzhiev: "Anfield is a stadium with a lot of history and Liverpool have won this competition five times. It's an honour to play here at Anfield against Liverpool. After the draw for the group stage I said we would pick up points but I cannot predict in which game and against which opponent. But we will collect some points at some stage."
