Gary Monk takes his men to Anfield as Swansea City face Liverpool in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday evening.

Where to Watch

Kick-off is at 8pm GMT. Radio commentary of the match will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Overview

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will face his former club for the first time this season in the Cup fixture on Tuesday. Since the Northern Irishman left the Welsh club, Swansea went on to win the Capital One Cup in 2012/13 season, defeating the Reds in the process.

The Merseyside club are not enjoying a great run in the Premier League as their latest fixture against Hull City ended in a goalless draw in front of the home fans. Liverpool are still without the services of star striker Daniel Sturridge as he is recovering from a calf injury.

Rodgers is likely to start Rickie Lambert ahead of Mario Balotelli after the Italian international continued his poor form against Hull.

Meanwhile, Swansea started this season on a brighter note with a 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford. They went unbeaten in the first four matches and in the last two months, they have managed only two wins in all competitions.

In the third round of the Capital One Cup, the Swans defeated Everton 3-0 at the Liberty Stadium. Monk would be hoping for a similar display when his side face Liverpool on Tuesday evening.

What Managers Say

Brendan Rodgers: "When you are under the cosh, you know that you have strikers who can score out of nothing. It is a big weapon. Daniel Sturridge is one of them. That is where we aim to get with Daniel. When he comes back into the team, you will see the confidence because of the movement and the dynamic."

Gary Monk: "It's one that we're really excited about - we go up there with nothing to lose. Anfield's always a special place to play and we did well in the cup game that we played there before. Hopefully we can take that sort of performance [against Leicester] up there but it's one that we'll go up and enjoy. Liverpool will obviously be favourites but hopefully we can put a performance on that will make everyone proud."
