Where to watch

Kick-off is at 3pm BST. Catch the highlights of the game on Match of the Day on BBC One and BBC One HD at 10:25pm BST.

Overview

Liverpool have started the season on a brighter note as the Reds are still undefeated in the league after three matches as their last match against Arsenal ended in a 0-0 draw. Brendan Rodgers' side looked solid in the back four as they have still not conceded a goal this season.

The Northern Irishman will be looking for another home win when Liverpool take on the Hammers in the second fixture of the new campaign at Anfield. The last time they played at home saw the Merseyside club seal a 1-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth.

West Ham, on the other hand started the new season with a 2-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates. A team under the guidance of new manager Slaven Bilic was expected to continue their impressive display against the Gunners into the next fixtures.

However, the Hammers suffered defeats to Leicester City and Bournemouth in the next two home fixtures. In addition to this, West Ham have not registered a win at Anfield for over half a decade.

What managers say

Brendan Rodgers: "You have a small chance at home but it is going to be very difficult. We tried to play with our qualities, but we were missing a lot of players. If we have to miss our captain and central defender [for the second leg], with all our injured players, I don't see the solution to beat West Ham United."

Slaven Bilic: "They are a tough team and have seven points. They have not scored so many goals but have not conceded many. The results are different," the former Everton defender said. If you see the players they have bought, they still want to be attacking and score goals. They have quality in every department of the pitch and are really dangerous up front."
