Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake
Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake might train together, but the two Jamaicans will be desperate to beat the other in the 100m.

With the London Olympics now upon us we decided it was time for two members of the IBTimes UK Sport team, Nick Howson and Adrian Back, to discuss the major issues as London prepares to host the 30th Games.

First on the list was just who would be handed the honour of lighting the Olympic flame with Daley Thompson and Tom Daley just two of the names being thrown in the ring. The bookmakers may well have Roger Bannister as the favourite but the always popular David Beckham is another genuine candidate.

Another major talking point was just which events would present us with the greatest rivalry. Victoria Pendleton against Anna Meares threatens to be an explosive race with the duo certainly having no love lost for each other.

Britain will be hoping that Pendleton can win another Olympic medal to go with the gold she won in Beijing in the individual sprint event, but it will not be easy against the impressive Aussie rider.

Perhaps the most interesting rivalry comes in the 100metres where Yohan Blake will be looking to cause a major upset by beating his fellow Jamaican, and the reigning Olympic champion, Usain Bolt.

The two may train together but their friendship will be put on hold as Blake looks to take his place in history by beating the charismatic Bolt.
