Longmire fans may soon get a reason to rejoice as their favourite show may return for season 4 on Netflix.

A&E's hit crime drama was surprisingly cancelled in August after a successful season 3 much to the disappointment of the show's cast and crew along with their loyal fans.

Deadline reports that Netflix and the series producer Warner Horizon are secretly trying to strike a deal in order to bring back the fan favourite series from the dead.

However, the deal is tricky and there are high chances that a "final agreement may not be reached," the website reported.

But if everything goes good, the season 4 of the hit drama will start filming from March next year and the show will return to the small screen in 2015.

Netflix has a previous record of adopting cancelled shows and earning good profits from them. The online streaming company accepted The Killing in the past and fans are hoping that the cancelled A&E drama will get lucky with Netflix.

Earlier, Lou Diamond Phillips, the lead actor of the show, hinted that the show may be revived when he posted a series of tweets.

Phillips has been vocal on social media since the popular dram got cancelled and has appealed to fans to support the #LongliveLongmire movement.

Here are few fan tweets after the renewed hope for Longmire season 4.
