The F1 juggernaut has landed in Malaysia for the second Grand Prix of the season at the Sepang International Circuit and there was no surprise as to who was the quickest in the two practice sessions. It was Mercedes indeed!

But the Ferrari's kept them honest in both sessions grabbing the second fastest time with Williams following close behind.

Practice review

It was a Mercedes show yet again, but Ferrari drivers kept them honest this time around by grabbing the second fastest time in both the sessions.

Nico Rosberg was fastest in FP1 as his teammate Lewis Hamilton suffered engine troubles which brought an end to his participation. However, he managed to make up for lost time in FP2 and set a blistering lap on the medium compound tyre.

Ferrari drivers showed promise yet again as Sebastian Vettel finished second in FP1, while teammate Kimi Raikkonen took up the mantle of lead Ferrari in the second session.

Williams are maintaining their position as the best of the rest along with the Maranello-based team this season. However, it is a known fact that Williams always runs a heavy fuel load on Fridays, thus masking their true pace.

Manor Racing finally made their appearance on track in both the sessions, but were well off the pace. McLaren continued their journey in understanding their new package with Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso struggling to match even the midfield teams for pace.
