Real Madrid will look to bounce back against Malmo in the Champions League after relinquishing top spot in La Liga over the weekend.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 7.45pm BST. The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport Extra.

Overview

Swedish champions Malmo are looking to secure their first points in the Champions League this season after losing 2-0 to Paris Saint-Germain on matchday one. Malmo, the only Nordic club to have reached a European Cup final, are on a run of five straight defeats in the Champions League, stretching back to last season and face a tough task ahead to break that run against the galacticos of Real.

Malmo defender Rasmus Bengtsson and midfielder Guillermo Molins who have ankle injuries are doubtful to make an appearance.

Real Madrid relinquished top spot in the La Liga as they were held to a goalless draw by Malaga at the Santiago Bernabeu on 26 September. The Spanish side dismissed Shakhtar Donetsk 4-0 at home on matchday one and will look to continue their perfect record in the Champions League in Sweden.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo needs a hat-trick to overtake Raul and become the club's all-time leading goal scorer. Moreover, Real are without Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Danilo, Pepe, Sergio Ramos and Jese who have suffered various injuries.

What managers say

Age Hareide: "They (Real Madrid) know nothing about us. They already have three points and they're only human. Real Madrid are tough to play against at the Bernabeu, but fans are quite far from the pitch there. They're very close at Malmo, and that's going to surprise them."

Rafael Benitez: "Fans want to see the team win, but they also want to see them create chances and battle. We need to keep working, create chances and be more accurate. We are talking about the fact that the big teams have to play two games per week and maintain a very high intensity and that is not always easy. The game [against Malaga] was about having possession and we put out a quality team to do that. In terms of fitness the team looked good and it was not easy."
