Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is convinced he has the backing of his players to start a bid to reclaim the Premier League title next season.

Pablo Zabaleta has come out in support of Pellegrini, insisting the players share the blame. The manager believes he still has the backing of the dressing room.

He said: "I feel that every day because I work with all the players every day. The players, the managers, the owners, the fans, we are not happy with what we did, but I think we are working in the right way and we must arrange some things to try to win the title again next season."

Chelsea will be crowned champions if they beat Crystal Palace on 3 May and Pellegrini admits Jose Mourinho's side are worthy winners.

"I think that Chelsea was the best team, that he deserves to win the title because he has been the most consistent team with very good players," he said.

"I congratulate his owner because he is always improving his squad and I congratulate his fans and Jose Mourinho and the players because they deserve absolutely the title."
