Manchester City take on AFC Bournemouth in a weekend Premier League clash at the Etihad on Saturday, 17 October.

Where to watch

Kick-off is set for 3pm BST. Catch the highlights of the match on Match of the Day on BBC One and BBC One HD at 10:30pm BST.

Overview

City have retained the top spot in the league following their thumping victory over Newcastle United at home. They were trailing by a goal before Sergio Aguero scored five in a space of 20 minutes to take the game away from the Magpies. Summer signing Kevin De Bruyne also found the back of the net against Newcastle United. The worrying factor for Manuel Pellegrini is that his side have failed to manage a clean sheet as they have conceded nine goals in last five matches played in all competitions.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe signed a new deal and will face City in his first fixture after extending the contract. Despite the focus on Howe, the Premier League newcomers have not enjoyed a good start to the season. They have managed just two wins in the Premier League, and settled for a draw twice in eight matches played this season. They will be looking for an upset when they face City at the Etihad this weekend.

What Managers Say

Manuel Pellegrini: " No, I was not pleased because we sent Vincent with a medical report that he was not able to play, but as the manager of Belgium says, he can do what he wants. In the international break he can use the players and he wanted to use it and he used."

Eddie Howe: "I have no problem with the guys who spend money at the top end of the league. They're more than welcome to do as they see is right for their football club but we are in a different market."
