A man who was Tasered outside Manchester's St Luke's Church of England Primary School has been charged after allegedly assaulting two women at its gates.

Stephen Maloney, 30, of Langport Avenue, the same road where the school is in Manchester, has been charged with a section 47 assault, one count of affray and a public order offence under section 4a of the Public Order Act.

He is accused of verbally and physically assaulted people outside a school in Longsight including hurling abuse at people, waiting outside the school and pushing two women to the ground.

Police located Maloney walking away from the scene of the alleged incident but were forced to use a Taser to tackle him after he is said to have threatened officers with forks.

He appeared before Manchester Magistrates Court on 13 February where he was remanded into custody until 27 February.
