Manchester United have confirmed that PSV Eindhoven starlet Memphis Depay will join the club this summer.

Depay, 21, has reportedly said goodbye to his teammates at the club and will travel to Manchester today to finalise the deal reportedly worth €30m (£22.3m, $34m).

United have confirmed the deal will be completed subject to a medical and with the winger to officially join the club when the transfer window opens in June.

A statement from PSV's technical director Marcel Brands has confirmed the Netherlands international will complete the move subject to final paperwork being completed.

Depay, who Louis van Gaal named in his Netherlands squad at last summer's World Cup, had been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League last summer but opted to remain in his homeland for another year.

Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton have seen bids for the winger rejected since then, while Liverpool have also reportedly held talks in recent weeks over a lucrative move to Anfield.

PSV technical director Brands revealed just last week that Brendan Rodgers' side were 'a step ahead' of United in the race for the starlet's signature.

But United have moved quickly to secure their first signing of the summer.

Depay played an integral role in PSV's first Eredivisie success in seven years this season and stands as the league's top scorer with 21 goals.

In a statement released through PSV's website, Brands said the club were 'very proud' of the transfer.

"Memphis has come through all the PSV youth teams and has played an important part in securing the Eredivisie title this year.

"He is a wonderful example of our training facilities and will be making the move to a beautiful club in a wonderful league

"In a sporting sense, we are obviously losing a fantastic player who is of great value to the team, but PSV is happy to allow him to make this wonderful step."
