Manchester United target Dante is also on the radar of Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, according to Spanish reports.

Dante, 30, has played a key role in the Bayern Munich squad since his arrival from Borussia Moenchengladbach in 2012 and is a pivotal player for his boss Pep Guardiola, just as he was last year with Jupp Heynckes in the dug-out.

But Carlo Ancelotti is not completely happy with Real Madrid's defence and, despite their excellent results this season, wants to strengthen it with the Brazilian. Real Madrid have confirmed their interest in Dante even though he recently said he feels happy at Bayern at the moment.

After recent speculation he could be open to opening talks with Manchester United boss David Moyes, the defender insisted he would never leave a side who are widely considered favourites to dominate European football again this season.

"I am still not [a United player]. I continue at Bayern, and I thank Manchester United for their interest. It will all be sorted by the end of the month," said the defender last month after Manchester United showed their interest in the central-back.

But Spanish TV La Sexta reports that the 30-year-old could go to the Santiago Bernabeu if Real come up with an interesting offer – the fee would be around €24m.

The Germans are currently one of the favourites to win the Champions League trophy for a second season running, with the side already asserting themselves at the top of the Bundesliga table.
