Manchester United are reportedly pondering a move for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller following his bust-up with manager Pep Guardiola.

According to the Mirror, the Red Devils have revived their interest in the striker following a touchline spat with the Bayern manager during their 3-0 demolition at the hands of Barcelona in the Champions League.

Louis van Gaal is a big admirer of the German international, since the Dutchman was the manager, who gave Muller his debut for Bayern during his stint as the manager of the club.

The Red Devils boss had tried to sign the German forward last summer following his arrival at Old Trafford, but was rebuffed by the Bavarian giants, who handed Muller a new contract.

This did not deter the Manchester based club as the report claims that they tried again to bring the £40m-rated star to England in January this year.

It is believed that United are keen to utilize this fall out between the manager and the player and make an offer again this summer.

They are hoping that an opportunity to linkup with his former manager and experience a new league could tempt the Bayern star, who has won everything with the Bundesliga club.

Meanwhile, former Bayern and Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes United's record summer signing Angel di Maria will fit in well at Bayern.

The Argentinean has had a nightmare season in England and has been linked with a move away in the summer, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly preparing a loan move for the winger.

"Di Maria would fit in well at Bayern," Hamann said, as quoted by Goal.

"The player obviously cost Manchester United a lot of money, but he has been unable to live up to the high expectations," the former German international added.
