Manchester United are preparing a summer swoop for Jasper Cillessen if they have to part ways with David de Gea, according to the Daily Mirror.

The keeper is being rated at £25m for a move to Old Trafford and would be a massive boost for Louis van Gaal, who is resigned to his fate of losing his star Spaniard to Real Madrid in the summer.

De Gea is believed to have finalised terms with the Spanish giants for a move to the capital in the upcoming transfer window, with Iker Casillas stepping down from his position as number one.

De Gea has only a year left in his current contract and would have to be sold on a free next season if he refuses to extend his contract with the 20-time Champions.

Cillessen, who is currently plying his trade with Ajax, would be an able replacement for De Gea. They would have an added advantage in the sense that Louis van Gaal is conversant with his style of play, having worked with him during the World Cup for the national team.

Goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek has earmarked the player as a potential recruit for the Red Devils, expecting the club to reap the same benefits as they did after the transfer of De Gea under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Should they complete a move for the player, he would be Van Gaal's second Dutch acquisition of the summer, as he has already completed a move for Memphis Depay from PSV Eindoven.

The Red Devils are also looking at other targets like Petr Cech from Chelsea and Hugo Lloris from Tottenham should a deal fall through. However, Cech is reportedly willing to move to Arsenal, given that he is currently settled in London, while Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has slapped a massive price tag on the Frenchman, which has dissuaded United from a move.
