Manchester United host Stoke City on Saturday as the Red Devils look to close the gap at the top of the table.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 3pm BST. Live commentary will be available on BBC 5 Live Radio. Highlights of the game will be available on BBC Match of the Day on BBC One from 10:20pm BST.

Overview

Manchester United have made their worst start to the season in over two decades and David Moyes will be looking to turn things around after a horrendous start. The Red Devils have lost three and drawn two of their last eight games and know that anything less than a win here will have serious repercussions on their title aspirations.

United will be boosted by their performance in midweek, when they beat Real Sociedad at Old Trafford by one goal to nil. Though the scoreline flattered the visitors, Moyes will be relieved after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Southampton last weekend in the Premier League. United led for most of the game but a late equaliser from the Saints cost them two vital points.

United are currently eighth in the league with 11 points and need to go on a winning run to close the gap on the top four and rekindle their season, which is on the verge of collapse.

Stoke City are winless in their last five games after a promising start to the campaign. If the Potters do manage to pull off an upset against United, this will be Hughes' 100th win in the Premier League. Their last game ended in a 0-0 draw against West Bromwich Albion which was their third game on the bounce without scoring a goal. Should they fail to find the net in this game, this will be the first instance since 2008 when the Potters have gone four games without scoring.

What the Managers Say

David Moyes: "The frustrating thing is we have had moments in certain games when you think 'this is it, we're on the up'. You can look at the Southampton game last Saturday and say we really should have won. In the past we have been good at getting on top of those things and seeing games out. I am sure we will do that in the games we have coming up."

Mark Hughes: "You have to be careful. There are only a certain amount of games you can lose. Five or six enables you to still be in the title race. Lose any more than six then you make it very difficult, nigh on impossible, for yourself. They have lost three and maybe they are a little bit vulnerable at the moment."
