Manchester United are planning a bid for Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta, according to the Daily Mail.

David Moyes is keeping a keen eye on the midfielder amid reports that the player has had a fall out with the Camp Nuo management and is stalling on signing a new contract. The Red Devils are willing to put in a January bid for the player in what will surely be regarded to be among the most shocking transfers in the Premier League history should they pull it off.

The Red Devils are trying to bolster their midfield and had made a futile attempt to sign Cesc Fabregas last summer from the Catalans but the former Arsenal captain decided to extend his stay in Spain. The report states that there is a viable chance that the player may choose to move out of Barcelona and United are keeping a close eye on the possibility, having learnt their lesson last summer through their failed pursuance of Fabregas.

Iniesta's contract with the Catalans ends in 2015 and negotiations over his contract have come to a standstill over the past few weeks. The Spaniard's arrival will come as a major boost for United who are yearning for a man to add some flair to their midfield. The 29-year-old is regarded to among the best midfielders in the world and it will come as a major surprise if he chooses to end his illustrious career with Barcelona and go seeking for a new challenge outside the country.

The report states that Iniesta is angry at the management for sacking physio Emili Ricart, who helped him tide over a series of injuries over his career. Moyes has money to spend, which was evidenced by his pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale last summer and is likely to go all the way should the Spaniard be made available for sale in January. He has made 13 appearances this season for Barcelona, contributing with two assists in the process.
