Overview

Jose Mourinho will be playing his second match at Old Trafford after the first one against Southampton ended in a 2-0 victory for United. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the star player for his side, scoring both goals when the Red Devils hosted the Saints.

United come into this fixture after registering a 1-0 victory over Hull City at KCOM Stadium. It was Marcus Rashford's late strike in the stoppage time that was the difference between the two sides in the end.

With the last result, United have won all three matches so far this season. Mourinho will be looking for nothing less than a win when his side take on their local rivals in the Manchester derby on Saturday.

City, on the other hand have won all their three matches so far this term. They enter this tie after beating West Ham United at the Etihad before the international break. Raheem Sterling was the star his side, scoring twice against the Hammers.

Sergio Aguero was handed a three-match ban for elbowing Winston Reid, which will see him miss the derby clash. Pep Guardiola has a selection headache: whether to start summer signing Nolito to lead the attack or go with Kelechi Iheanacho up front.

The fixture will also see two of the biggest managers in the game, Mourinho and Guardiola, face each other once again, this time in Manchester. The duo faced each other in the La Liga, when they were managing Real Madrid and Barcelona.

What managers say

Jose Mourinho: "It will be a complicated process but we know it is like this when we have these players. And I would love all of the players to go because it would mean that everybody is being selected for their national teams."
