Slovenian Champions Maribor host Premier League leaders Chelsea on Matchday 4 of the Champions League group stages on Wednesday, 5 November.

Where to Watch

The kick-off is set for 7.45pm BST. Live coverage of the match will be available on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD.

Overview

Slovenian champions Maribor come into this game following a 1-0 defeat to Slovenian league leaders Domzale and now face in-form Chelsea, the team that beat them 6-0 at Stamford Bridge two weeks back.

Ante Simundza is hoping that his team can put in a better performance against the Premier League leaders and come away with a positive result. The manager has the full squad at his disposal and will deploy his strongest XI.

Maribor are the only Slovenian team to have beaten English opposition in the Uefa competitions, following their victory at home over Wigan Athletic in last season's Europa League. However, Chelsea will be a different kettle of fish compared to the Championship side.

Meanwhile, Chelsea come into this match on the back of a 2-1 win against Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League. They are one of the form teams at the moment and will expect nothing more than a win when they visit defending Slovenian champions Maribor.

Jose Mourinho was not pleased with his side's performance at the weekend and will hope for a better showing in the Champions League. A win against Maribor will book their place in the knockout phase of the Champions League.

The manager has brushed off their biggest European victory as a one-off and believes that it was a night when every chance they took ended up in the back of the net. He does not think it is possible again.

What Managers Say

Ante Simundza: "We have been preparing for this special match in the normal way. Apart from Aleš Mejač, everyone trained normally today, so we have our strongest team, who I'm sure will represent Slovenian football decently against a top team like Chelsea."

Jose Mourinho: "The 6-0 win against Maribor in the first match was a fake situation. It was the only match where we played like 'one chance, one goal'. We're not a team who score many goals from a few chances, but against Maribor everything went into the net. I know Maribor are a very good team. I watched their matches against Sporting and Schalke and also some in the Slovenian league. They play offensively and are especially dangerous at home. I have to convince my players that in the first match everything went our way."
