Mark Carney will become Bank of England governor in June (Reuters)

Mark Carney, the incoming Bank of England governor, is making his first appearance in front of the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee, where he is expected to indicate the direction in which he will take UK monetary policy.

Carney, who is currently the head of the Bank of Canada, will take over from Mervyn King as Bank of England governor in June.
