Market round-up: FTSE 100 down on last day of G7 talk as Morrison falls.

On the last day of talks by the G7 countries' finance ministers about economic growth and a possible Greece deal, the FTSE 100 edged down by 0.80%.

The GfK reported that business confidence was at an eight-month high and consumer confidence beat expectations as well, although it still experienced a drop from the month before.

Shares of UK supermarket Morrison were down 3.39%, making it the second biggest faller of the day. Morrison's new chief executive David Potts is cutting prices and narrowing margins at the supermarket chain.

The biggest faller was Ashtead, keeping up with the company's unfortunate trend.

Associated British Foods is profiting from the surging organic retail market and its 3,120p target set by investment banking management company Goldman Sachs helped shares rise 2.64%.

On the Alternative Investment Market , e-retailer Boohoo is on the rise after it struggled during its first Christmas as a listed company.

The share price of mobile banking company Monitise has been falling for a while, despite the hype around mobile payment methods and talks about a cashless world.
