UFO's have been trending for quite a while and have been increasingly spotted throughout the world in the last few years, with some saying a 65 per cent rise in UFO spotting in the last two years.

In the last months, UFOs have been spotted in Jerusalem, New York, and Texas and several times in the UK and recently, a research team from Sweden claimed they found the remains of a UFO in the depth of the Baltic Sea.

Despite UFO enthusiasts firmly believing in the existence of extra-terrestrial visitors, usually most people are rather sceptical when it comes to UFO sightings as they doubt the veracity of the information.

However, Fox News Recently reported that planes were dramatically diverted away from a major Chinese airport after reports of a UFO circling a runway.

The non-identified object was spotted in mid-August apparently floating above Jiangbei International Airport in the city of Chongqing, and following the mysterious encounter, officials decided to divert several flights to other airports.

However, reports suggest that the UFO or mysterious flying object disappeared from the sky within 50 minutes, allowing for the airports activities to return to normal.

While the Chongqing government has not offered any explanation for the UFO, airport workers said the object could have been a sky lantern or a large balloon.

It is not the first time airport traffic is disturbed following a UFO scare as last year, Xiaoshan airport in the eastern city of Hangzhou was closed after shocked air traffic controllers spotted a UFO on their radar screens.

Once again the mysterious object rapidly vanished but footage of a bright object orbiting across the sky during the night later became a YouTube sensation.
