Overview

Great Britain finally delighted the home crowd, registering their first win in the men's hockey Champions Trophy 2016, beating South Korea 4-1 on 13 June. Ashley Jackson, Alastair Brogdon and David Condon (twice) all scored for the hosts to breathe new life into their campaign.

They go into this clash on second place in the points table with 4 points from three games played, with the players knowing that one small mistake can cost them a place in the final on Friday.

Defending champions Germany have had a disastrous tournament so far losing two and drawing one game out of the three played. They are yet to win a game in the competition with even two wins from their remaining matches not assuring them of a place in the final.
