Michael Jackson fans around the world took to Twitter to mark what would have been the 57<sup>th birthday of the pop icon. MJ's army did their idol proud with an array of images, gifs and heartfelt messages in remembrance of the undisputed King of Pop.

Members of the star's family also paid their personal tributes. Sister LaToya Jackson wrote affectionately: "You Will Always Be Loved! Missed But Never Forgotten! Happy Birthday Michael!" In a simple but poignant message, older brother Jermaine Jackson wrote: "Hold close the memories."

The global superstar passed away in his Los Angeles home on June 25, 2009, after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 50. Seven years later his memory and his music lives on.
